PRESS RELEASE 19.06.20: Frydenbø, manufacturer and distributor of the boat brands "Nordkapp" and "Sting", announced today that they have signed an exciting agreement with Mercury Marine, a division of Brunswick Corporation. This means that Nordkapp and Sting will be sold with Mercury as the preferred outboard engine in the future.

Following the acquisition of Nordkapp Boats last year, Frydenbø has been open about an offensive growth strategy in the marine group. This agreement will be an important tool towards further investment.

- Mercury stands for quality, performance and reliability - a perfect match with Nordkapp and Sting. They will be able to contribute to us reaching high ambitions for growth in established markets, says an enthusiastic executive vice president in Frydenbø's naval division, Hans Petter Slang.

- After BRP shut down production of Evinrude without warning three weeks ago, we were in a position to consider a new engine partner. The last few weeks have been marked by various negotiations with attractive alternatives in the process. We wanted to find a professional partner with products that best suit our boat brands. The fact that we can now launch Mercury as a new engine on the stern is fantastic, and something we know our customers will appreciate. The Mercury engines are simply a great product, Slang adds.

- Nordkapp and Sting are two of the most interesting boat brands on the market and it was only natural for us to start a dialogue with Frydenbø about these. Now that we have reached a good agreement for both parties, we are very much looking forward to embarking on an exciting collaboration with a bright future, says Marty Bass, President of Mercury Marine EMEA.
