Saturday, 2 October was the official opening of the new building in Handelsparken in Sogndal - and Frydenbø Bilsenter finally got to move into their brand new location!
Modern premises and facilities
Since 2009, Frydenbø Bilsenter Sogndal has been located at Granden. Throughout 12 years, they have slowly but surely grown out of their old premises.
- It will be great to have a new location where we have more space and better facilities as well as a large parking space for our customers - which we have had issues with previously, says Rune Døsen, general manager of Frydenbø Bilsenter Sogndal.
Quick charging and more space
In the new building, there will be installed quick charging stations as well as multiple charging points around the building - both inside and outside. They now have more space to work with, and the new solutions are better for both the car sellers and the mechanics. At the old premises, the mechanics sometimes had to work on the cars outside, in all kinds of weather, if needed - now they have capacity in the workshop for eight cars at a time!
Visible location
The new building's location also makes the car centre more visible in Sogndal, and it can be seen clearly from Loftesnesbrua and large parts of the town. With Felleskjøpet and Møbelringen as their closest neighbours, they are also hoping for customers to stop by more often than at the old location at Granden.
- When people have been to Felleskjøpet or Møbelringen, it will be easier for them to stop by us as well, says Jon Arne Norberg, sales consultant at Frydenbø Bilsenter Sogndal.
- We have also received lots of compliments on the building. At night, the illumination is visible from large parts of downtown Sogndal, and from Fjærlandsvegen where all of the traffic from Sunnfjord and Nordfjord pass by. It lights up very nicely along the road, and there is no doubt that you are driving past a car centre that distributes Nissan and Volvo, Døsen smiles.
Successful opening day
The opening day was celebrated with a red carpet, coffee, cake and visitors from both far and near. Sogndal Fotball were present with trick-competitions with prizes, and the car centre arranged a remote-controlled car competition. Watch the video from the opening day below!

- The opening day was a lot of fun, and with lots of visitors. We had a full house from 09:50 to 14:30 in the afternoon. Amongst the visitors were Sogndal players Tord Johnsen Salte and Martin Ove Roseth, who arranged trick-competitions, and we arranged a competition for the kids with remote controlled Volvo XC90s.

New tyre hotel and car wash
Amongst the new facilities are also their own car wash as well as a washing machine for tyres at the new tyre hotel.
- When the new tyre hotel gets up and going, it will be fantastic for us. At our previous location at Granden, we stored tyres in containers - now, we will have a much better system, says Norberg.
- We will certainly not be spending our time looking for tyres in the future!, concludes Rune Døsen.
